Well good. This place can be kinda rough on newbies.

Lovely to meet you Dane
And you as well.
Are you settling in well?
I’ll just have to buy socks, at some point. I’m Lily by the way I don’t recall meeting you
I’m Dane, its good to meet you. Been here long?
That is so much effort
I guess you’re shit outta luck then, huh?
Sounds like you need to buy some new ones then darlin.
All the tired. I hate working. I’ll be on tonight. Send me your sweet loving. Only four more hours.
Anyone want to entertain a lady?
Who might you be?
Zach smiled. The words practically jumped out his mouth. “Y-yeah. I’d like that man.” Yep…flirt on Miller, flirt on. He didn’t want to press too hard so he left it at that. Zach was, however, caught off guard when Dane recanted and told him about his little brother. So maybe I am doing something right…He knew not to immediately ask what happened, having hated the annoying question when asked himself.
He watched Dane take in a few gulps of beer. Someone’s thirsty, he thought. Guess he’s trying to relax himself a bit. Zach listened to Dane’s quick answer. Creativity..hmm, never been one into art but I can stare the hell out of a painting. Maybe I should joke with him about that. He wasn’t sure why he was even considering the thought, but it quickly was forgotten as watched the pretzels on the top of the bowl come alive. “W-whoa…” He was so engrossed in the power Dane possessed he didn’t realize he was smiling wide. Zach pulled back and began to blush, chugging his beer to hide his reddened face. “Ahh..” he let out, relieved that beer still did trick when he was ever embarassed.
“S-so, I’m guessin’ you already know what my power is then?” He questioned, figuring Dane had seen him show off several times at parties. “I’m uh, curiosity, in case you didn’t know that, though. And I gotta know now, what’s the coolest thing you ever brought to life? Have you been to Paris and brought the Mona Lisa to life? Can you only do small things or are you really good with your power?” Zach shut himself up, hating when he ran off question after question. It normally drove people away in his life, and he was prepared for it to do the same to Dane at that moment. “S-sorry. I get curious at new things.” He admitted, finishing off his beer. The crowd had just gone into a huge uproar over what seemed to be some woman lasting the longest on the bull. Zach’s eyes grew wide, his mind had worked up another crazy idea. “Promise to hear me out when I ask this?” He began, watching Dane’s nod of affirmation, “Any way you can make that come alive?” Zach wondered, pointing over to the mechanized bull. “Don’t answer yet, I’ll get us another round.” He announced to him, winking his direction before he left.
Holding his power steady so the pretzels would continue moving Dane glanced up to see Zach’s reaction. He was was surprised by the huge smile Zach was directing towards the pretzel bowl, equally unexpected was the smile his own face pulled into in response. Dane leaned back a little, trying to hide his smile while he continued to watch Zach, taking in for the first time the lines and contours of his face, searching out the little details. He’s very handsome.. Whoa. Cut that out Dane, what are you doing? As if his wayward thoughts has brought Zach back to his senses he leaned back suddenly diving into his beer and finishing it off. Was he blushing? Deciding that the bar was too dim to be sure, Dane decided he was imagining things and turned his thoughts instead to what Zach had begun to say.
Dane tilted his head when he heard Zach’s slight stutter, he was intrigued by what he must be feeling to have caused it. Not wanting to make big deal out of it Dane replied steadily, hoping to put him more at ease. “Yea, you’re a telekinetic right? You’ve never been shy about showing off when everyone is together but I don;t know if I would’ve guess curiosity for you. Of course now that you say it it’s very fitting.” Dane’s smile crept back as Zach fired off question after question. He couldn’t help but feel flattered at his interest, even if it probably had more to do with his personification than actual interest in him. Dane picked up his beer finishing it off before starting to answer buying time to think out his responses. “The craziest thing…” Dane thought for another moment before answering. He leaned toward Zach across the table and began in a low tone, “Well, back in NYC when I would get really bored I would swim over to liberty island and climb up into the statue of liberty and make her move. You know, wink at tourists, wave at passing ships,” He started to laugh, “One time I even did that skirt-blowing-in-the-wind thing like Marilyn Monroe.” Bringing his laughter under control he continued answering his questions, “I’ve never been to Paris but thats a great idea. If we end up in NYC together we can go to the Met and freak people out. As for being good, I like to think I am. I use it to make a lot of my art work so I used to practice all the time.” Seeing Zach’s discomfort Dane smiled, “Don’t sweat it, I never mind questions.”
Catching Zach’s wink Dane began to blush, glad that Zach had turned around before he could see it. What the hell.. Shaking his head Dane began to mull over Zach’s idea. Liking the idea more and more Dane began to grin. Not even a problem. He started playing with ideas of how this would go in his head wondering what Zach had in mind. When Zach got back Dane took his beer rolling it between his hands as he spoke. “Alright, I’m in.” He grinned conspiratorially at Zach, “What exactly did you have in mind?”
Although he was focusing on the road, Zach listened intently to Dane, wanting to know as much as he could about him. He laughed when Dane informed him of his hometown. “Yeah, it’s pretty opposite now that I think about it.” He began, scratching his head while he continued. “Never been to NY before though, always wanted to see it in person.” He admitted. Zach was competely interested in different places, especially the people from them. Dane seemed cool enough that it made him want to visit New York that much more.
His fist clenched the steeering, remembering his family. Or his shit version of what one shouldn’t be. Zach almost didn’t answer, but he had a goal and didn’t want to seem distant to Dane, who was probably already more confused than ever at the moment. “N-no, I wasn’t. My mom died two years ago and my dad and me…weren’t ever close. Unless close now means my face on the other side of his fist then yeah we were real close. He tried to snap out of it as he pulled up to the nice bar full of tweny-somethings all over. Great, we’ll fit right in, Zach hopelessly thought. He parked the car right out front, managing to parallel with ease. Smirking, he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out the car. “Let’s go see what the crowd’s about, shall we?” He asked as he got out the car.
Zach opened the door, gesturing in his friend inside first. “Southern hospitality man, you’ll get used to that about me.” He joked. They walked in, noticing the bar was having some kind of rodeo night, with a giant mechanical bull in the center. “Interesting, haven’t done one of those in awhile.” He announced as they continued to the bar. He put his hands on Dane’s shoulders and squeezed playfully, unsure why he suddenly got tense. “Calm down man! I’ll get us the first couple rounds okay? Find us a seat.” He told him, watching him walk off to a table with a decent view of the crazed bull. Zach got to bar quickly, asking for two bottles of beer without letting the bartender know he was underage. He tossed some cash on the bar, and took his beers over to Dane. “Here.” His arm reached out and handed his friend the beer. “I just realized,” he began, taking a sip from the bottle, “I don’t know your personification or your power. How did we not go over this first?” He questioned, smiling and laughing.
Laughing softly at Zach, Dane ran a hand through his hair. “You’ll probably be kind of overwhelmed, especially at first but maybe if this” he hesitated for a moment, “friendship continues we can take a road trip down there or something. It’ll give you the grand tour.” He smiled softly, remembering the city he grew up in. He couldn’t wait to get back there.
Seeing Zach’s reaction towards his question Dane reached towards the dashboard and turned the volume on the radio down slightly, making it easier for them to hear each other. If we’re really going to be friends I may as well hear what he’s got to say. He looked at Zach as he talked about his family, watching his face as he spoke to gauge how he really felt about what he was saying. Dane was surprised he was being so open, Zach didn’t seem like the kind of guy who opened up that easily. “I know it doesn’t help much but I’m sorry for your loss…” Swallowing hard and looking out the window Dane decided if Zach was opening up he might as well too, “I uh.. Lied before. I had a little brother. He’s not with us anymore.” With that admission Dane lapsed into silence waiting for them to arrive at the bar. He hoped the distractions would lighten the mood a little, otherwise this night was going to turn out to be a downer.
Zach pulled smoothly into the parking lot, parking with ease despite how crowded it was. Dane nodded in response to Zach’s suggestion following behind him as Zach strode confidently forward. Dane hesitated before walking through the door Zach held for him, startled by his manners but laughing all the same as Zach released and potential awkwardness with his joke. Dane was no stranger to bars yet he felt uneasy here with Zach, slightly on edge. He wasn’t sure if the anxiety he was feel was from being in a strange place away from home or purely from being out with Zach. Sighting the mechanical bull at the same time Zach did Dane cracked his first real smile of the night. I’m gonna be all over that later tonight.
Lost in his thought Dane was unprepared for the feel of Zach’s hands on his shoulders, tensing up as they landed lightly on him. “Sorry man…” He mumbled, forcing himself to relax as he watched Zach walk to the bar and confidently grab a couple of beers. Dane walked toward the Bull finding a table with a good view and sitting down, lacing his fingers together so he wouldn’t find something to pick at like he did when he was uneasy. Taking the bottle from Zach, Dane immediately took a drink hoping the alcohol would relax him a little bit. Chuckling softly Zach joked, “You had other priorities right off the bat it would seem. My personification is creativity so art is my thing. As for my power” Dane lifted a hand towards the bowl of pretzels on the table, animating them so they flipped onto the edge of the bowl and began to spin and weave around each other. “I can animate objects. Kind of like from Beauty and the Beast.”
